ABOUT US
Meg Ingram: Owner & Rodsmith
Meg moved to Potsdam with her parents in 1964. She graduated from Potsdam Central High and joined the Army. After living all over the world as an army wife, she returned in 1996 because there is no place like home. During her travels, Meg worked in a variety of customer service and clerical positions. Her experience has taught her interpersonal skills, how to best serve her customers and clerical aspects of a business. Meg was given the opportunity to learn rodsmithing from Tim Damon in 2004. After twenty years of “office” work this was an epiphany; she had found her vocation and her avocation. She continued to learn and master the skills until an accident required her to care for an injured family member. Meg continued to make rods on a part time basis and dream of building superior rods. Raquette River Rods is that dream.
Dan Moore: Rodsmith
Dan is a Pastor’s kid and moved with his parents to Potsdam around 1993. He graduated from Potsdam Central High in 1999. After high school, Dan attended SUNY Canton, but found he prefers to work with his hands. Dan started working with Damon Rods in 2004 and continued with Tim until Damon Rods closed. Dan worked at SUNY Potsdam and built rods for himself and friends. Dan is involved in every step of the creation of RRR and, with Meg, is building his dream. In his free time, Dan is, of course, fishing.
Vern Ingram, Jr.: Sales & Legal
Vern, Meg’s husband, is a practicing attorney in Potsdam, NY, and has been for more years than he cares to dwell upon; a photographer; a musician; and an enthusiastic fisherman in local lakes and rivers. Vern is a graduate of Potsdam High School, St. Lawrence University, and Cornell Law School. He handles any legal questions of RRR, and works in the area of sales and promotions; he does not create fishing rods!
Ray Rapczynski
Ray was born in NE Pennsylvania and started fishing at the ripe old age of 6 and hasn’t stopped in over 40 years. He has wet a line in 10 States and Canada, well maybe more it hard to remember everywhere he’s fished. He moved to NY in 1990, and fell in love with the variety of fishing available within a short trip from his home. He became a licensed guide in 2000. The whole time he has been fishing he has never been quite satisfied with what was available for purchase. This led him to tinker with designs and improvements and to his being a master rodsmith.
Kim Deister: Webmistress
Kim is Meg and Vern's daughter, born and raised in Potsdam, NY. She is a US Army veteran of over 13 years and is now a stay-at-home-mom to 4 boys and proud Army wife to her active duty husband. No longer wearing combat boots and camouflage, she spends her time creating and designing websites and graphics with SAHM Designs.
