WHY RAQUETTE RIVER RODS?

With thousands of choices available to anglers, why choose us?

Three words,...

Quality, price, and performance

RRR is dedicated to providing top quality rods at the best price possible. Each rod is hand built and customized for you. We can create a rod perfectly designed not only for the type of prey, but even to your type of fly, bait, or spinner, whether you prefer fresh or salt water.

We also offer you the opportunity to have the rod uniquely labeled (such as "Happy Birthday from/to Grandpa"); in essence, whatever you would like on a rod, we can do it.

You can choose the color, length, the number of pieces of the blank, the style of guide and color of the wrap. You can also choose the reel seat and grip. Every aspect of the rod is built to meet your particular needs and desires; it is a one of a kind and built just for you.

RRR starts with locally harvested woods to carve reel seats and custom made grips. Raw wood is cut, cured, and formed into the perfect reel seat or grip, right in our studio. You can look at the choices and select the one you want.

Each rod is subjected to rigorous testing before, during, and after the assembly.

A flex test ensures your rod has the right movement. If it has more than one piece, this test requires that all pieces meld together, allowing no interruption to the feel of the strike. A detailed black light inspection checks for any hidden defects.

Special attention is given to correctly "spineing" the rod to insure proper location of the guides.

Grips are hand filed and fitted to the blank butt, this provides for much greater sensitivity, reducing the amount of tape, and epoxy required to join the rod butt to the grip and seat. This also reduces overall weight and minimizes fatigue on those all day hunts.

Each guide is hand ground and wrapped, tips are applied, then the rod is again inspected for proper alignment. This ensures that the flex and sensitivity have not been compromised.

The next step is to place the label and serial number on, plus any customized labeling requested. The rods are then treated with a special custom coating which seals and protects the wraps and labels. This coating has an ultraviolet blocker to help ensure the longevity of the rod.

The final step includes another inspection of the rod, the line is installed, and we cast and flex to ensure the rod is performing perfectly.

Only then is it ready for you.
